seriously $184K for a motorcycle?

That particular bike is 100% worth it, just like how the Porsche 918 was a steal at under $1 Million from the factory.

To be fair, it’s a replica of a god’s battle mount Marc Marquez’s MotoGP bike, so...

It’s a “street legal” MotoGP bike (replica.. bla bla). It’s priced that high for a reason.
Sadly, the only garages that will ever see it are ones that use it as a showpiece.

Goes to show that a lot of motorsports tech is purely functional and does not necessarily look impressive at first glance. That enormous rear swingarm is just the beginning...

maybe so, but $184K is insane.
$30K yes.

i’ll let you buy it then.

$30K yes, $184K = NOPE!
![]() 01/17/2017 at 04:31 |

i’ll never own one then.

If I ever get yugely (that’ll be a word after the 20th) rich I’ll buy one and make it into a coffee table. God knows I wouldn’t be able to ride it without extensive training!

Even at that price, they are probably losing money on every one.

I bet if it was a ducati nobody here would be saying that. This is actually a race ready bike and unlike ducati honda actually wins championship.

but $184K is just gouging to the max!
$30K i could live with.

I know one guy who will be taking his racing.
![]() 01/17/2017 at 07:24 |

Point of order sir, it’s not race-ready by a long shot, it needs a very expensive race kit to make it thus.

It’s a MotoGP bike for the road. It’s got a lot of tech which isn’t available on normal bikes. Sure, it isn’t cheap, but it’s actually not as expensive as you would think.

That is awesome! It’s a beautiful, hand built, machine
![]() 01/17/2017 at 07:40 |

I wouldnt say by a long shot closer than anything street legal. Plus the kit you are talking about is not available to the us.
![]() 01/17/2017 at 07:42 |
|
It’s not??? Well that kind of sucks.
![]() 01/17/2017 at 07:43 |

We are always getting screwed here in the us.

Taking that into consideration it is a bit of a superfluous motorcycle in the lineup. A Fireblade will be a better bike for a tenth of the money. Plus titanium fuel tank.
![]() 01/17/2017 at 08:23 |
|
Yeah i think is a bit over the top but like i said if it was something italian people wouldnt be saying that. Look at the car market is the same; nsx when the price was announced same thing.

I don’t think nationality has much to do with it to be honest. Honda have been muttering about a MotoGP replica for years and years, then they release this castrated thing with less power than a common-or-garden Fireblade. When the Desmosedici was released it was pretty damn close to what was racing and it didn’t cost the thick end of 200 large.

Read the article.
“As a sign of how serious this motorcycle is, those remote-reservoir forks are SBK-level Ohlins FGR items. How fancy are they? Well if you tried to buy them yourself, they’d cost you $13,000. Yes, that comma is in the right place.”
